Automation Engineer – Robot Control Systems
We\'re DHR Engineering
We R&D game-changing technologies in the field of robotics and automation, that impact our daily lives.
We don’t do off-the-shelf. We don’t do easy. Because we’re writing, building, designing and simulating solutions to novel problems that nobody has solved before, we’re constantly pushing the limits of what technology and humankind can do. Join us and you’ll work across a phenomenal breadth of technology, with incredibly smart people, to create novel, reliable, resilient, scalable and optimized automation systems.
What we do: Developing and deploying manufacturing automation solutions for suppliers of SpaceX, Tesla and Blue Origin. In this scope we architect the process from scratch, including internal logistics, factory layout and discrete task robotization. Since novel problems require novel solutions, we bring many technologies, that are existing only in the researcher labs, to the real world.
What You’ll Do:
● Integrate industrial or collaborative robots in industrial environment for 24/7 operation.
● Program, troubleshoot and deploy resilient PLC based control systems.
● Collaborate with software engineers to expose PLC data to higher level systems.
● Create electrical schematics and project documentation.
● Develop, source, build and wire control cabinets and electrical panels.
What You’ll Need:
● Passion for automation, robotics and electrical engineering.
● Experience and knowledge in designing electrical control systems.
● Experience in PLC programming and working with industrial protocols (Profinet, EtherCAT,
Ethernet/IP).
● Basic skills with SolidWorks or other CAD tools.
● Basic knowledge of sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
● Experience with wiring, assembling, and testing control cabinets.
● Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
● Willingness to work with both mechanical and electrical systems.
● Eagerness to improve and work in a dynamic environment.
● Good written and spoken English.
What’s a Plus:
● Experience with industrial/collaborative robots and their programming (ABB, Fanuc, KUKA,
Doosan Robots).
● Experience with SCADA/HMI systems and process visualization.
● Experience with tools like EPLAN, Solidworks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar.
● Understanding of industrial safety standards.
● Experience in power and drive system design.
● Basic knowledge of C, Python, or another programming language.
● Basic knowledge of German.
What We Offer:
● Free access to prototyping equipment for personal needs – 3D printers, CNC machines, industrial robots.
● Opportunity to work on innovative automation and robotics projects.
● Fast career growth – potential for up to 50% annual raise for excellent performance.
● A team of young, motivated engineers where innovation happens every day!
● Opportunities for professional training and certifications.
● Participation in projects for leading companies in the automation and robotics sector.
We’re looking forward to meeting you at the interview!
