ELECTRICAL & PLC PROGRAMMING TECHNICIAN
Job Purpose Summary:
Design of electrical and pneumatic systems. Software development for controlling special machinery and equipment commissioning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cooperate with other departments in projects design.
- Client relationships: Take note of their needs. Request and collect information to define project requirements.
- Supplier relationships: Querying of components and materials. Quotation request.
- Design of electrical and pneumatic machine installation.
- Development of electric and pneumatic diagrams.
- Development of electric and pneumatic bill of commercial components.
- Development of flowcharts of machine operation.
- Customer technical support.
- Development of user manual of machines.
- Provide assistance and training to other colleagues.
- Software development:
o PLC
o HMI
o SCADA
o Motion controllers
o Safety PLCs
o Sensors
o Communications
- Start-up of machines in own facilities and in customer sites.
o Support to electricians in wiring and installation
o Supervise electrical and pneumatic installation
o Configure PLC, servo systems, drives, communications
o Make needed tests to ensure correct functioning of normal sequence operations
o Represent the company in the customer premises for commissioning
o Electrical / Programming troubleshooting
Technical Competences
Education/Qualifications
- Preferred: Engineer’s degree in electronics and industrial automation, mechatronics.
- Other options: industrial engineer’s degree (industrial electronics), certificate of higher education in electrotechnical and automated systems.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of one year in similar position.
- Performed a complete startup of a machine (with own software developed) for at least three months.
Other skills (languages, IT, other technical knowledge)
- Automation systems knowledge: PLC, HMI, SCADA, motion controllers. Specific knowledge in systems developed with OMRON and SIEMENS brands.
- Electric and pneumatic installations: design (EPLAN software preferred) and interpretation of electric and pneumatic drawings. Basic knowledge of components and materials. - Basic management of computer tools: CAD design, MS office, internet, …
- Open to frequent business trips abroad
- Local language, fluent in English, other languages are valued.
