Technical Support (Remote, Part-Time, No EXP Needed)
HK CONSULTS OOD is a Sofia-based software and IT consulting company delivering custom enterprise applications, cloud-native services, web and mobile apps, and system integration. We are hiring a Remote Laptop Keeper (Support) to enable our developers and engineers to remain productive while traveling internationally. This role ensures developer devices are configured, maintained, and accessible remotely, and that connectivity, security, and tooling remain operational across borders.
Key responsibilities:
Provision, configure, and maintain company laptops and peripherals for developers and engineers to ensure secure remote access while traveling.
Manage OS images, VPN and remote-access configurations, and developer tooling so engineers can work across jurisdictions without interruption.
Monitor device health, apply patches and updates, and perform remote troubleshooting for connectivity, performance, and software issues.
Coordinate secure data protection and encryption policies, assist with authentication and access control, and enforce company security standards on endpoint devices.
Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, and handover records for devices; track warranty, licensing, and asset lifecycle information.
Provide timely technical support and clear instructions to engineers; escalate complex hardware or network issues to vendors or internal teams.
Document procedures, create troubleshooting guides, and share best practices with the engineering and operations teams.
The position is based in the EU with occasional coordination across time zones. Candidates should be comfortable handling hardware logistics and remote support workflows in a regulated and secure environment.
What we're looking for
Hands-on experience provisioning and configuring Windows, macOS, and Linux laptops for developer use, including virtualization and container tooling.
Strong knowledge of VPNs, remote access solutions (RDP, SSH, MDM), and secure authentication methods (2FA, SSO).
Familiarity with endpoint management tools, patch management, and OS imaging (eg, MDT, Jamf, Intune, or equivalent).
Practical troubleshooting skills for networking, hardware, peripheral devices, and developer tooling; ability to debug remote connectivity and performance problems.
Experience with encryption, disk protection, secure backup, and data handling policies to maintain compliance when devices cross borders.
Good inventory management and asset tracking practices, including licensing and warranty coordination.
Clear written and verbal communication for producing runbooks, user guides, and for supporting engineers in high-pressure situations.
Organizational skills to coordinate device shipping/returns, vendor repairs, and cross-team escalations.
