Production Engineer – SMT

For our trusted client, we are looking for Production Engineer – SMT.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Production Engineer – SMT, who will be responsible for the setup, optimization and maintenance of our SMT lines. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing process, developing production documentation and supporting the integration of new products into serial production.
Our SMT production currently includes two lines, soon expanding to three and supports a diverse product range across security systems, optics, medical devices, and more.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement effective SMT production processes to ensure high-quality and efficient manufacturing.
• Optimize process parameters to reduce setup times, material losses and improve throughput.
• Monitor machine functionality and software performance; initiate corrective actions when needed.
• Prepare technical specifications for the acquisition of new equipment, devices, and tools.
• Create and maintain machine operating instructions and production-related documentation.
• Support the development team in aligning SMT components and assembly requirements for new products.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers to support the launch of new products and modifications of serial products.
• Participate in the product acceptance process and program entire SMT lines (e.g. printers, pick-and-place, reflow ovens).
• Perform time studies and calculate technological times based on assembly types and processes.
• Contribute to process layout improvements and cost efficiency in the PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) domain.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or similar.
• Solid understanding of technical documentation and PCBA production principles.
• Practical experience or knowledge of SPI, AOI, X-Ray systems is highly desirable.
• Experience with SMT machinery from Hanwha, Koh Young, Mycronic, Seho is considered a strong advantage.
• Proactive and adaptable mindset, eager to learn and apply new technologies.
