For their key manufacturing facility in Sofia, Bulgaria, we are looking to find and hire an experienced and motivated manager to take on the position of:

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (COO)

We are looking for a forward-thinking Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee manufacturing and product development (R&D) operations. This is a senior-level role, working closely with the CEO to turn strategic goals into smooth, daily execution across all departments.

In this position, you will:

- Lead and manage all operational areas, including production, planning, logistics, and supply chain.

- Improve manufacturing processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and other efficiency tools.

- Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure new products are designed for scalable production and cost-effectiveness.

- Supervise the full supply chain - from sourcing materials to delivering finished goods.

- Maintain high standards in product quality and ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations.

- Help shape and execute the company’s long-term strategy by turning business goals into clear action plans.

- Build and guide a strong operations team, encouraging growth, accountability, and innovation.

Key requirements for the role:

- 10 years of professional experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Energy, or related high-tech industrial environments. 

- 4+ years in the same or in a senior leadership role within a manufacturing organization. 

- Proven hands-on experience in the production (not distribution and sales!) of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), including involvement in assembly, integration, testing, quality control, or engineering of complete BESS solutions. 

- Demonstrated experience in process improvement, operational excellence, and scaling manufacturing operations. 

  - Bachelor’s degree or higher in (Electrical) Engineering, Electronics, Energy and Commodity, or a related technical field. 

- Strong communication, leadership, and team‑management capabilities.

- Fluency in English at B2 level or higher (both written and verbal). 

- Willingness to travel from time to time within the country and internationally on business trips.
