The Center of Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology (CPSBB) offers the following position:

Postdoctoral researcher (R2) at the Department of Bioinformatics.

Occupation: Full-time

Period: Fixed-term contract, probation period of six (6) months, with the possibility of extensions up to four (4) years

Place: Plovdiv, Bulgaria

The Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced bioinformatician to join the Department of Bioinformatics. Postdoctoral researchers at the Department are involved in various research activities such as plant genomics, transcriptome analysis, and other computational biology methods in plant biology. The Department offers comprehensive support to the experimental departments at CPSBB, particularly in analyzing "omics" data sets, including next-generation sequencing data from cutting-edge technologies such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and whole-genome sequencing, as well as primary and secondary metabolite profile data. Job Requirements:

• PhD in Bioinformatics, (computational) Systems Biology, or related fields.

• Demonstrated research experience, reflected in publications as a first author in peer-reviewed journals. Publications in higher-impact journals (e.g., IF >5) will be considered as an advantage.

• Experience in NGS data analysis (e.g. RNA-seq analysis, genome sequencing)

• Experience in plant science and mathematical modelling is advantageous.

• Excellent English is mandatory.

Main responsibilities:

• Conduct cutting-edge plant science research

• Supervising PhD students

• Writing project proposals, assisting with grant management & other administrative work
